Travel Notes
A Weekend of Sakura and Rocks
We took a weekend trip so Cici could visit her best friend from UCI, Jolin, in Baltimore. It was also my first time taking portraits for two people instead of one, which turned out to be both challenging and really fun. With the soft sakura scenery around us, the whole afternoon felt bright, gentle, and full of spring energy.
After that, we went to Shenandoah National Park and completed the strenuous Old Rag Trail. It was our first time finishing a trail at that difficulty level, and scrambling between the rocks was honestly super fun. The second half downhill, however, felt less like hiking and more like a long negotiation with our knees.
In the end, it was probably our persistence that got us to the finish?plus a little fear of being stuck on the mountain after sunset. Either way, Old Rag became one of those exhausting but unforgettable memories that made us feel stronger afterward.
